Challenge, Solution, and Impact
Experience freedom
Mattapan Community Health Center today faces a huge challenge; we have outgrown our current facility. While it has provided years of service to the community, our current building cannot be renovated to meet modern standards and serve patients efficiently. We have no room to expand -- either to serve new patients or to initiate new services that our community needs.
The solution? A new, four-story mixed-use development of almost 50,000 square feet, in the heart of Mattapan Square. The new facility will help us do our current work better, and serve our current and new patients more efficiently. We will also be able to add new services for patients, and public health programs for the community. MCHC will become more visible and convenient to our patients. And by creating new job opportunities, MCHC -- already Mattapan's largest employer -- will make an even greater economic contribution to our neighborhood.
