You can publish whatever you want in the Offcanvas Section. It can be any module or particle.

By default, the available module positions are offcanvas-a and offcanvas-b but you can add as many module positions as you want from the Layout Manager.

You can also add the hidden-phone module class suffix to your modules so they do not appear in the Offcanvas Section when the site is loaded on a mobile device.

Mattapan Community Health Center invites supporters, friends, and neighbors to join us for our 22nd Annual Rock the Boat Gala where we will celebrate the legacy and vision of Dr. Azzie Young as she begins the next chapter of her amazing life's journey. The Gala will be on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the Rennaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel at 606 Congress Street, Boston.

So it is with great pleasure that Mattapan Community Health Center presents the 2018 Community Health Pinnacle Award to Dr. Azzie Young. From the time Dr. Young came to Mattapan Community Health Center in September 1996 until her retirement this past December, she has been a force of nature. Under her leadership and with the help of the community, the health of Mattapan improved significantly. Notably, the infant mortality rate and teen births for 15 to 17-year-olds dropped, while deaths from breast cancer, lung cancer, and heart disease also saw a decline. Hypertension and diabetes care became a major focus of the health center's work. With the help of the MCHC team and many amazing partners, the health center was able to achieve its long-term goal of opening a state-of-the-art health center in the heart
of Mattapan Square, Azzie Youngbring new and expanded behavioral health, on-site mammography, and dental health services to the neighborhood. At the same time, her world-class team continues to provide the best in adult and pediatric care, pregnancy and newborn care, chronic disease and geriatric care, and health education and outreach . . . everything that is needed to build healthier communities.

Dr. Young did all of this with amazing dedication, a great sense of humor, and the ability to make the world's best gumbo. As we enter another year of operations serving the patients of Mattapan and Hyde Park Communities, we are grateful to Dr. Young for the work she did in building this great health center. Thank you, Dr. Young and Congratulation on your retirement!

Rock the Boat is Mattapan Community Health Center's signature Fundraising Gala, which began in 1997. The goals of the Gala are to raise funds for our work, recruit friends, and to honor individuals who are making significant contributions to the Community Health Center Movement. The 1997 Gala set in motion the framework for the Health Center’s Annual Galas, which were held every April on Boston's premier cruise tour ship Spirit of Boston, for nine years. In 2006, because of the success of our gala, we relocated to a larger venue (hotel) on land. Please use the map on the left for directions to our Gala.
